    Description

    Embroidered & Crewel
    Hand Stitched
    Heavy Felted like feeling but more like a Pressed Wool
    Wall Hanging or Rug  or Tapestry
    47" x 70"
    This a a great piece that I have not found another quit like it.  Heavy wool that has been pressed or rolled out to make the base material.  All hand stitched.
    Please look over all the photos and ask for more if you like.  Sometimes 12 is just not enough.  There are no holes or rips.  It has a primitive appeal to it.  Random spots of discoloration and threads that do not complete.  But as you can see it is still extremely lovely.
    I based the age on the people in the family who had it at their passing but it could be older.  The brand stamp you will see in the last photo could have come later in its life.  It is certainly one very unusual piece.
