Description

A Chinese repousse silver box, late 19
th
-early 20
th
century, approximately 2 ¾” tall x 1 ¼” wide x 1 ¾” long, with a stamp on the bottom. It features a foo or lion dog (shishi) with a ball under one paw. It has some interesting “action features”: the ball rolls, the eyes move when the tongue is moved from side to side. Tests as silver. It is in excellent condition for its age, somewhat worn on the bottom, but no dents or breaks (see pictures). Very interesting little piece.
