    Description

    Don Donald Hand Painted Cel
    1992 - Lot# 224/500
This is a limited edition of 500 hand inked and hand painted character cels from the historic Walt Disney cartoon "Don Donald". The original cels used in the production of Don Donald are no longer available from Walt Disney. Thus, Disney artists recreated the artwork from the series using traditional animation techniques. The cel was inked by a Disney inker and then hand painted with acrylic based paints by a Disney painter.
This is a highly collectable piece and was purchased in 1992 for over 00 from the Disney Animation Gallery (original receipt is included).
The frame is 25in Wide and 20in High. This piece comes with the original Certificate of Authenticity.
    Don Donald
is a 1937 American animated short film
produced by Walt Disney Productions and released by United Artists. The cartoon follows Donald Duck
attempting to woo a female Mexican duck named Donna. It was directed by
    Ben Sharpsteen
    and features music by
    Paul J Smith.
    Clarance Nash
    voiced both Donald and Donna.
Although billed at the time as another Mickey Mouse
cartoon, explaining the face of Mickey Mouse at the beginning of the original release, the film is actually the first installment of the
    Donald Duck Series
and is the first to feature Donald as the primary starring character.
The film also introduces a love interest for Donald.
