Description

Mug Root Beer was first introduced in 1885 by Dr. Swett of the Belfast Beverage Company of San Francisco, California.  The name change was made, in 1947, to Belfast Root Beer.  In 1955, the name was again changed to Belfast Old Fashioned Mug Root Beer.  The "Belfast" name was later dropped.  Pepsi purchased the company in 1986.
This is an empty bottle of Mug Old Fashioned Root Beer.  It is a 16 oz. bottle.  It was "bottled under the authority of New Century Beverage Co. of San Francisco, Ca. 94110".
This bottle was made by the Brockway Glass Company in Oakland, California in the 1960's or so.  This plant was sold to Owens-Corning in the 1970's.
