Vintage 1930’s ESSANNAY ELECTRIC MFG STRONG ZIPPER ELECTRIC CHANGEOVER

Patent number shown on the side is 1,796,970…information found on line indicates an application date of August 10, 1928 and a grant date of March 17, 1931
In good overall condition but does show age and wear
I’m not knowledgeable about the Zipper or how it works, but it does seem to function…when the red knob is pulled, the other end does retract as it should (I have no means to fully test the Zipper, and it is being sold as is)
Nice item to add to a collection, display, use on a rat rod or steampunk project, etc.
Estate item, and the exact age and history of use are unknown
